Fruits - I Swear I Didn't Do It...

(In my defence; my sister helped me!)

Well this is week seven of my first year in BA Art and Design, and I have just finished the background of one of my pages in my creative concepts sketchbook; we're doing fruits. However I cannot deny the fact that this is indeed supposed to be blood. We are on the third brief of our fruits project, where we are to invent and create our own fruits and it just so happens that my favourite idea involves a lot of blood and I thought; "Bloody fruits, bloody people... bloody backgrounds!".

Technically it keeps up with the theme, and it just so happens that the last few pages have been filled with progressive colourful sketches about how my fruit starts as a seed, how it grows, blossoms, all that jazz, and I just felt it needed that shock to remind the reader of the horror which comes with the fruit (Though I have been informed that the pictures that are to go with this page are graphically shocking enough... well hopefully this will just boost the impact of shock and horror!).

When I say "my sister helped me" I was simply referring to the spreading of the blood; I had intended to hold the picture upright so the red paint would drip down the page. However it was as effective as I was expecting; it only created about four big drizzles down the page (not horrific or bloody enough for my tastes), so my sister suggested I blow on it instead... needless to say I felt silly for not coming up with that idea by myself.

So there you have it; my full confession of this bloody horror! And finally, by successfully using the words bloody five times and horror three times (technically speaking)... my work here is done.
